Google – The current King of search engines. The name is now synonymous with online searching.
The Internet Movie Database – There is none other. This is the best utility on the web. Every actor and crew member of every movie is a search away.
The Onion – Awesomely funny online newspaper/parody.
Slashdot – Slash is the tech news community, home of “Profit!”, “in Soviet Russia”, and “I for one welcome our new _______overlords.”
Blogger – The site and service that started the current explosion in online publishing. Blogger allows the maintenance of a site without running software.
Movable Type – Another software package for online publishing, but MT sits on your own server. And it’s free for personal use!
Wordpress – Another blog software package, free and open.
Winamp – The most popular, and best, MP3 player.
Blogwise – Blogwise is a directory for personal journals like this one (aka “blogs”).

Wordplayer – Home to Terry Rossio and Tedd Elliot, collectively the number two writer in Hollywood. They’re kind enough to include a catalogue of insightful essays on the subject of screenwriting.
Complications Ensue – The blog of Alex Epstein, a successful screenwriter and author of “Crafty Screenwriting”, a very good book on the subject.
John August.com – Personal blog of John August, screenwriter of Go, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factor, and Charlies Angels. He gives advice and answers questions on screenwriting.

William Gibson – Author of the influential novel NEUROMANCER, the father of the cyber punk genre, and creator of the term “cyberspace”. Gibson’s site contains a journal, which we read daily.
Wil Wheaton – Wil Wheaton starred in Stand By Me and Star Trek The Next Generation. Luckily he’s also a tech nerd and author and runs an insanely popular blog.
